“in parallel” is a two-part group exhibition that presents the work of twelve native artists, evoking The Energy Plant’s very first exhibition, “Toronto: A Play of Historical past (Jeu d’histoire),” 1987. Each of the 2023 exhibitions will convey collectively tensions, hopes, and the transformative areas artists create within the unfolding aftermath of settler colonialism. Particularly, in parallel highlights the intimate connections between land and physique, whereas expressing every artist’s need for modifications that may result in an intercommunal future.
